Workshops and consulting

How long is a workshop?

Every workshop can be structured to meet your school's requirements, as a half-day, full-day, multi-day, or multi-site seminar. Concept-based Instruction is best delivered over two, two and one-half, or three days.

Are the workshops only for IB schools?

No. Crafting Quality Inquiry and Concept Statements is written for the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, and Build-a-Rubric uses IB examples alongside any other instructional model. Concept-based Instruction, Assessing HOT Skills, and Take a Breath are not tied to the IB.

What does a workshop include?

Every session includes personalized practice and individual application exercises and activities. The Workshops page shows a sample schedule for each one.

How much does a workshop cost?

Pricing depends on the length, the format, and the number of sites. Request a quote and Mary will reply with pricing for half-day, full-day, and multi-day or multi-site options.

Does Mary consult on curriculum and assessment?

Yes. Mary consults on curriculum development and design, implementation, mapping, and articulation, and on authentic, criterion-based, standards-based, differentiated, and articulated assessment. See consulting services.

Does Mary speak Spanish?

Yes. On-site training can be scheduled on the date of your choice, including weekends, when Mary's calendar is open. Put your preferred dates in your quote request.

Are CEUs or clock hours provided?

CEUs and clock hours are typically provided through your district. Mary supplies attendance documentation and training summaries that your district can use to award credit through its own approval process.

Is college credit available?

Yes. Up to four graduate-level semester credits are available through University of Massachusetts Global, accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission. Additional requirements and fees apply. See the college credit details.

Are training materials included?

Yes. Every participant receives a professionally printed resource handbook, included in the standard pricing. Supplemental materials are available if you would like to add them.

What if our school doesn't have a full day available for training?

The format is flexible. The training can be broken into smaller blocks across several days or sessions if that works better for your calendar.

How long is each on-site training session?

Each on-site training session includes about five instructional hours plus breaks, typically 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM with a one-hour lunch. The length can be adjusted to fit your campus schedule.

How much is the training?

Pricing varies with the number of attendees, the program selected, the location, and the schedule. Request a quote and you will receive pricing with options.
